muffler sound

I've tried MANY different muffler combos, my current setup is an Apexi 3" DP, no cat, 3" Dynomax racebullet (looks like a glasspack), it's sorta quiet at idle, has the deepest tone I've heard in a turbo'd DSM and sounds like nothing else under WOT. I'm very pleased with it.

I have a 3 INCH catback on a N/T and it sound great. Took the sliencer out and its sounds mean but isn't too loud. Not bad for a full SS 3in catback off of ebay(145.00 shipped)..

You are a N/T. Essentially any straight through exhaust will be loud.

ive got a 2.5 inlet to a 4in tip with the silencer out... and it sounded great.

but then I cheated and gutted the cat and muffler =P ( i don't recommend it seeing as how you cant pass emissions with that done unless you set it up like mine)

It's not really possible to be both deep and loud really. Maybe you should ask Brian O' Connor, or Earl Spillner, or whatever his name is.

So we're gutting my cat and muffler and it sounds angry and loud. It's deep but just the right pitch. AND it passes emissions! All you need are some spark plug anti-foulers, my ecu will only throw a code every few months or so.
