I bought a 1996 tsi awd with 110k miles on it.

1. Sparkplug well has oil and random crap in it. Plugs were also black. I know I am running rich. Front O2 sensor is in the process of being replaced. What is the oil doing here? I don't think my plugwires were sealing up properly?

2. My friend wants to trade me his hks bov with recirculating kit and forgedmotorsports bov for my greddy typer. Good trade?

3. The bolts from my cat to my catback (hks) are rusted to hell. Can't break them. Just cut them? What to do here?

Thanks.

Cut the bolts for the cat, and if you have oil laying in around your plugs good chances are the rings are coming out of you motor. Does it smoke when you change gears. I am not saying for sure, but if oil is laying in around your plugs the only way it can get there is if the rings are letting oil leak past them.

Nope, no smoke comes out of it when I shift gears. How big of a problem is this. Are the seals hard to replace?

Could very well be a cracked valve cover. My friend had this problem for the longest time. The cracks on his weren't even visible from the top, only after we took it off did we see them. So if you're going to replace the VC gasket, might as well check it out at the same time. :thumb:

Was there oil laying in where the plugs were, or were the plugs just black, and oily. If there was oil laying in there I would say it would have to be blowing some blue smoke. If the plugs are black it is running rich.

Cylinders 3 and 4 are clean. 2 is the real problem. There isn't any standing oil... Just a really oily plug. Number 1's well has crap in it, but the plug is fine. Any ideas?

Plug wires don't seal up the plugs. The rings have nothing to do with the outside of the engine
You may have a cracked valve cover, and you definitely need a new valve cover gasket set.
