Hey guys.

Just figured I would post up some pictures of my rollcage in my 1G. I still have to trim and fit all the interior, but most if it does fit around the cage.

Its a 10pt NHRA spec cage, its made from chromoly.

Once the windows are tinted, most of the interior is back in, and cage is painted black. It should be less noticable, I do plan to drive the car on the street, but obviously not with passengers in the rear. Just local cruises etc.

Yes, Ill update it. Its not going to be the 'easiest' thing in the world. However, I am a very patient person, have love doing tricky, PITA, tedious things. I think fitting the interior will 'fit' the description well

what would be your guess on the weight of that cage?
man i could imagine a few of those interior panels being a huge pita to get back in haha good luck

Looks good man, I have to get a cage put in mine when I actually finish it up... Not looking forward to pulling the whole interior that I just installed back out

The weight I am unsure exactly, moly is a good bit lighter then mild steel, its also a good bit more expensive. The stuff is $8/ft in 20ft lengths. (canadian prices, it came from a mill in the US, so im guessing in the US it can be had for around 5-6/ft) Im guessing theres about 85ft.

I installed the most of rear interior tonight, The rear cover I had to cut down the sides and keep the full length across the front where it 'clips in', as well as make new holes for the little strings so it lifts up when you open the hatch. The main rear interior pieces that wrap around the bottom outside corners, had to be cut into 3 pieces, Its not a big deal though. You can't even tell its really cut, especially with the cover down, I made sure all the cuts were nice and straight all the edges are deburred nicely, just looks like a seam.

Id rather cut the interior to fit around the cage once its in, then build the interior around the cage and never be able to get it out. Since Sometimes things need to be run under the interior panells in a street car.

Ill get pics of once I finish installed all the rear interior.

Where did you anchor the rear bars?

I'm curious, why bend the uprights between the rear bars and the strut bar?

The rear bars are welded to some 6x6 plates in the back corners of trunk.
The uprights between the strut bar and rear bars could have been straight, this is just the way the guy built it made them, I had no preference.

The strut bar and uprights are not required I just had them added to give the rear bars a bit more support since the sheet metal in the trunk isn't the thickest part on the car. It was all that was added, didn't want to weight down the car with extra bars that aren't required, plus it takes away from the street look, is if the cage dosent already do that enough in the first place .
