I simply would like to find a chip to get around my fuel cut. I'm seriously considering just the stage 1 chip form dsmchips.com. Has anyone used this chip. Good, bad? Also, what exactly does getting my ecu "socketed" involve?

To eliminate fuel cut, go with a chip.

To truly push off fuel cut safely, get larger injectors and a chip or a piggyback fuel controller.

www.dsmchips.com rules And Jeff is the man:thumb: Definitely recommend stage 3 if you have bigger injectors. Closed-loop feature is really cool. I'm going with this soon!

It should be. But as with every car, it will vary. The chip for your ECU isn't expensive. You just have to obtain an EPROM ECU if you don't have one. I got lucky and picked one up for 125 bux:)

EPROM stands for Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory. Only certain year DSMs had EPROM ECUs, and for the 2G, it's 95; not sure about 1Gs. You have to get an EPROM ECU so that it can be reprogrammed.
