It's all within this thread but you kinda have to look for it. Maybe if all the info was on the first post?

No, we'll leave it that way to weed out all of the n00bs who want the product without the hassle. :) bump for the biglady mod :rocks: Maybe Steven is caught up in things at the moment and isn't taking more mounts in? It's entirely possible, since he has already stated that he makes zero profit. Oh, 2500 miles and they still look like the day I got em :)

haha if anyone with these motor mounts enters their car into like a magazine they should put "biglady Mod" hahaha give the man props :thumb:

I am caught up with other things right now guys. I have been working like crazy lately. And I have been helping a friend for the better part of the last month trying to get him ready for a race. And on top of that, I have put in 175 man hours on my own car in the lat three weeks. There is a point where I need to work on my own stuff. I am getting ready for a race next week so for now I won't be taking anymore in.

I had to have one of Eric's mounts repaired, which went out today. Sorry for not getting back to you Eric. And for the next few weeks I have to get my house ready for winter. As well as finish some other painting projects. So for the next 6-8 weeks I will be off the block a little. Sorry to the few people who have been trying to contact me. But, at this point I cannot afford the 45 minutes to run back and forth to the machine shop.

Steven

Exactly. Giving a motor a chance to develop rotating momentum with itself is what contributes to a loss of traction in the first place. It's harder to stop a heavy rotating object than it is to keep it from rotating. And so when it finally reaches the point where all the power has to transfer to the axles, BOOM! sudden release of high torque. This blows the tires of the road, literally. Or puts your AWD tranny through a second or two of pure he!!.

You know you guys can source this out to any local fabricator in your areas. It is not hard to replicate, and the aluminum is cheap enough is should not be difficult to find. All 36 sets that were made, the aluminum came from a scrap yard. There are two locally here in denver that strictly deal in aluminum. Not to mention the dozen or so more that have a little of everything.

All you do is cut the stock just slightly larger than the steel mount, press it in, drill your hole to stock size and you are done. Getting the stock rubber insert out is the hardest part. A torch is the best way. Just make sure to measure the bolt hole, and locate it before you remove the insert.

Well let us all know when you are ready to make them again. I am in need of another 2 sets. :)

He's only responding to people that are "really" interested.

No he must just not be doing them because here I am ready to ship mine to him and have paypal ready to go and he's not responding to me either and I think the fact that I made a whole thread about how I don't want to cut corners in my quest for 9's should show I'm for real.

This was one of those things you had to jump on. I knew it wasn't going to last that's why I got mine right away. How long could something this good really last?

i believe he stopped because he was overwhelmed from the last batch he did

Plus he was doing it for free and theres only so much stress one can take when not getting paid for it ;)

Who said anything about free. I would pay extra to have a set done so he made out on it. I"m not looking for handouts I just want a quality piece that I know will come out right and these are proven and tried. I think he was doing it for like $65 last time I had talked to him about it. I would pay double just to know I was getting something good.

And I don't even need the front one cause I"m buying one of Paul's front tubular support bar with mount

No no, Steven clearly stated a while ago that he was taking a break from doing these mounts for people. If I remember correctly it was a mix of time, cost/benefit (for him), and other things. I'm sure he's not responding because he doesn't want to stir the pot on this anymore. Besides, if anyone really wanted them, contact a local metal work or machinist and see if they can spit these out on a lathe (or whatever).

Fair enough. I just don't know any locals that would be able to do this for anywhere close to the price he was. I mean I could be wrong and I will research and see. If I can find someone I will let people know. I mean I would send my mounts straight to the shop that did it for steve and pay extra assuming that I wouldn't get the same hook up that he did. Like I said I just want to get a quality solid mount for not a arm and a leg because in the engine they are just motor mounts.

I wanted to get it done too, I pm'ed him on link forums and he didnt answer. There is a shop local to me that could do it, but they wouldnt want to do just a couple sets. If we could get 5-10 people, they'd do it no prob.

I'm not sure how the dimensions would work, since Steven previously said that some mounts differ a bit  That'd be cool if you guys could get a group buy because I'm sure there are a bunch of other dsmers that would jump on the boat. Goodluck and I'm anticipating on seeing your car this year Slippi! :thumb:

You figure Prothane does the same thing they have one cookie cutter size and people just make it work. One thing though is the Prothane are obviously not metal and have some give so you can squeeze them in so they make them a tad bit bigger. Either way if it's a little bit smaller the bolt with some lock washers on there will keep it in place and still won't have much give at all which is good in this situation.

I emailed the shop, waiting for a reply. Can we do a gauging interest group buy thread here?

Slippi84, I think it would be very difficult to make an accurate front mount with just the dimensions because the bolt hole is not centered.
