Today after removing the brake pads from my rear breaks, I pumped the brakes because I thought the caliper was frozen and the piston came nearly all the way out, leaking fluid from the piston.
Did not know if this means my caliper is shot, but I twisted it closed and put two new pads on the rear.
I must have leaked out a good amount of brake fluid from the rear and after taking the caliper off and compressing it back, lost even more.
Now after everything is together, I filled up the master cylinder and pumped the brakes about 50 times to the floor. The pedal is soft and drops down all the way, like it did when there was no caliper on and as if there was a leak.
It will hold pressure for a little bit, I can drive and drop the pedal to the floor and it will slowly stop, or I can pump it and it will build up pressure, im confused because there are no leaks anywhere, and the master cylinder is still full, so no fluid is leaking...
brakes were working perfect yesterday none this? Any ideas?
