so why is the fp3052 good?

ok well im pretty much set on the fp3052 but i just read a post that said that the BB doesnt help spool the turbo. but helps keep it spooled between shifts? is that right? the reason im asking is because i have a automatic. doesnt that keep the turbo spooled anyways? would this mean im throwing money away for BB? im into drag racing and i dont care about lag really. as long as i can launch w/boost. is there a better turbo for me? im going for 350-400 whp on 93 pump. i dont mind spending money on a quality piece but if BB is good for auto-x, i dont really care about that. i just want a turbo that spools by 4k.(thats what my torque converter is going to be set at) so what do you guys think? thanks

Do you have any supporting mods? According to your profile, You have none. Your automatic don't lose boost while your on the gas, Even between shifts, There is still load on the engine. If you're looking to get only 350-400hp, I would consider a different turbo.
Is your transmission ready to handle this turbo?

yes, i AM stock! no joke! but im buying all support for 500 whp this month. trans will have restalled to 4k, shift kit,endclutch & cooler. im going to keep the boost low and go for around 350-400 hp. next winter/spring im going to get a new trans from ipt. then ill raise the boost for around 500hp. by that time if my motor ends up taking a shit ill just rebuild that biatch!

Yes, it helps leaps and bounds.

BB turbos have better spool and transient response that an equivilent standard bearing turbo.

More than enough might be a little overstatement. Name 3 cars that are at 400whp with the Evo 16g.


On subject, the 3052 is a sweet turbo. I think you'll love it once you have all the supporting mods for it!

haha. well my idiot ass just talked to sbr. it didnt occur to my dumb ass that: when the trans shifts, the rpms will fall much lower that what i have w/stock turbo. i was thinking... " when my car shifts, it only falls to like 5k rpm.so i only need a turbo that spools by 4k"

i was told that my rpms will fall to around 3800 rpm. and the 3052 will have spooled by 3500. so basicly ill NEED a BB enless i want some lag after shifts. and i most deff dont want that. im going BB

he also told me they make the same turbo. its called gt30r. looks like this is a hundred bucks cheaper!
