No. You will just have to work a lot more to move the steering wheel. Once you are rolling, it's not that bad. No tow truck needed. Just get another belt when you can.

.... 3k miles, as in 3 thousand. Not three.

The more important question is not whether you have the herculean strength to turn the wheel. It's why the belt snapped. If it's because there is damage to the crank pulley, it will be a pretty big risk.

When my alternator belt broke I lost my waterpump as well, so my 3 mile drive home took 30 mins turning the car off every 1/2 mile to make sure it didnt overheat.

driving without it isnt too bad, youll get used to it. when i first got my car running the previous owner lost the ps belt so i went without it for about a month or so.

There has to be a parts place somewhere along that 3k mile trip. It doesn't take long to put on at all.

Yea man just find the nearest store and grab a new belt. Its no real biggie and saves you and your car.

Yeah and some of the chain stores may even help you put it on. Or just go to a service station I believe it only calls for an hour labor and its like a $10 part.

The PS belt does run off the water pump. But the wate pump runs off the crank and alt.

No, That will overheat your motor if you lose the Alt belt that runs the water pump.
