So, I decided to pull my old engine apart

Since I'm having issues with the one I swapped in, I wanted to see what I was getting myself in too. So my friend came over and he was curious as well, so we started pulling it apart.

Really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be getting it all apart, I'm not gonna lie, I was scared of messing with the cams at all. But the only thing that moves when you pull them out is the rocker arms (I believe I'm correct on what they are called? The little things that sit on top of the lifters and valve springs? o.o anyway...)

So we pull the head off and see the valves are fine (suspect #1 dismissed) move the head over and immediately notice that piston #1 is not flush with the top of the block while piston #4 is. So I'm thinking at this point, I was right on my spun rod bearing possibility.

So we decide to flip the block over and pull the oil pan. We did and found very few metal shavings in the oil pickups screen. That's when I saw it o.o

Surprisingly, aside from shiny spots where the piston hit it, the crank seems ok and the piston walls are nice and smooth, couldn't feel even the slightest catch with my fingernail on any of them within the piston stroke.

Have to save the bent one put it on the garage wall! Or just bend it back and reuse it!!! LOL Im just joking!

Lmao, hell with that, I'm keeping it in my house :D

Haha nice, glad you found your problem.

Yeah, I'll probably go ahead and rebuild that motor in (hopefully) near future so I'll have a spare :p

I actually considered just fixing it and swapping them back out LOL.

Holy hell! Was it running like that?

Yeah it still ran. In fact I have a vid somewhere of what it sounded like (terrible LOL)...

I'll see if I can find it and I'll add it in later. I had it roll backed to my house and then drove it into my yard. Fired right up like nothing was wrong too LOL.

Edit still had it on my phone --- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EukgRZi4RWA&feature=youtu.be

Btw, the cause was my inner wheel well plastic had broke and wore against the tire, leaving my intake open to splash. It then drowned the engine when I hit a huge puddle on the way to work, intake never actually reached water level.

Since then I build a plastic box to protect it from splash, and wont be driving in any sort of rain until I get a short pipe intake.
