I have to sell my 2g GSt and just recently my upgraded, 20+psi, stock turbo started smoking like a chimney. This is the 2nd time this has happened to this turbo so I think it is about time to replace it. I am trying to keep the replacement cost down and was thinking about getting a big 16g. Is that a direct bolt-on to the stock turbo parts? If not, is there a decent performing turbo that I could get?

A big t28 would work. More efficient than a t25 but not too much bigger.

*EDIT: with the b16g you will need an install kit.*

Ok let me get this straight 20psi+ on a t-25:nono: , first off let me say CRAZY, that would be why its smoking like chimney cause it cant handle 20+psi. I did not read your profile so but i hope your reall had supporting mods.

but as far turbo upgrade i would get a 16g but you need the 2g install kit.

Hey, myself and my friend both ran 20 psi on our stock turbos with no problem. I do agree that hard pipes and a downpipe are not enough to run 20psi. Does your turbo smoke at lower psi, because you could turn down the boost to 15psi, and make more power for less money if you invest in supporting mods, instead of just a larger turbo. My .02

so is there anything not really expensive that is better than a stock t25 that would be an easy bolt on?

Well yea anyone with a boost controler can turn it up to 20 psi, still doesnt make it right with those modifications.

ok well I see the problem now but still. what should I do next? I guess as you can tell I haven't had enough experience.

You need to decide what the use will be.

Do you weant an upgrade?

Or do you just want to fix the problem.

If you want to fix the problem then purchase another t-25

If you want to upgrade but dont want huge power and an easy install then go with the 16g. You should be able to find one for cheap in the classifieds and you will also need an install kit.

any more questions just ask
