I know alot of turbo talk is out there, but i haven't find one that answers my questions.

I have a 96 talon tsi awd and i want a fast spooling turbo that will bolt in with no extra stuff, and i would like to get as close as i can to hitting 300 hp. I have an intake, k&n ic pipes, larger side mount ic, cat back, straight pipe in for the cat, 1g bov, and a boost gauge. I realize i'll probably need a new fuel pump (walbro 190 ???) or could i just rewire my current one? A few turbos i've read about but i can't find all the stats on are 14b, small 16g, big 16g, t28, and the t28 killer. Which one would be best for what i want and wouldn't put too much pressure in my motor. I've heard a little about mbc and i guess i'd probably need one, if so which is the best for the price and would that fix my concearn of putting too much pressure in my motor? Thanks in advance for any help and if this thread is already out there and i missed it i'm sorry i'm apparently and idiot.

Look into the T28. Should be exactly what you're looking for if you're looking for at least 300 hp & a direct replacement for the T2-slow.

Study that Tuning guide first though. Don't just slap the turbo in with no MBC.

Well if you stick true to what you said that you would like a direct bolt on with no other needed parts than you will want the T-28. This is very close in spool and power when compared to a 16g.

Now if you take the other route and go with a 16g or 14b you will need an install kit of some sort. You will need this because these turbo's no longer have the 90* coming off on the compressor housing. The oil feed is also different between the T-25 and the 14b or 16g.

For whatever turbo you go with you will need a fuel setup to get the full potential of the turbo. You will need a fuel pump, either 190 or 255(you will need an AFPR with the 255), injectors (550 or 650 will be best for these turbos), and some sort of tuning device (AFC or DSM link).

Without the proper fuel you not going to be able to safely run anything more than 12lbs of boost. With the correct fuel mods and a good tune you can run high teens to low twenty with a decent octane of gas.

Now, as far as the boost controller if you want the most accurate I would recommend some type of manual boost controller. You can find a great variety of these from any of the supporting vendors of DSMtuners. Hope this helps. :thumb:
