Which one?

I know I know.. it's an oil thread! Well, a trannission oil thread. No flaming please. I've searched and haven't found a specific answer to my question. My question is, is it ok to just get any 75w-90 gear oil for my transmission? Or is there a certain kind I need? The guy I bought my talon from said the tranny had 5k on a stock rebuild. Didn't have the paperwork so I'm not gonna believe that.. My trans shifts good for the most part. It grinds when shifting to 3rd mostly and reverse. But it will grind in all gears sometimes and/or be a little hard to get in gear. Also when I shift from first to second it will almost "pop" of of 1st when I shift. It's kinda hard to explain. But I wanna try and change the fluid first before I get all worked up and think my transmission is going out. I was gonna get some synthetic Lucas or valvoline 75w-90 from the parts store. Would these be sufficient for my stock transmission? I'm not going to spend a lot on redline even though I know it's good. Just wanna know if Lucas or valvoline or maybe Mobil 1 fluid would be good? What is your definition of good? Those are all quality fluids that should meet the SAE specs of your car. Will they improve shifting? Not likely.

Good as in, will it work for my tranny and not blow it up. And assuming my tranny has incorrect or old fluid, I'm sure new fluid of any kind would help shifting.

any 75w-90 oil will do fine but IMO Redline worth the price. Did you ever touch the redline oil?? wow!! really good viscosity. Don't be cheap on things like that, buy the best. $45 for 3 quarts of redline that help shifting and protect all your tranny components, it's not that expensive!!! think about that.

Oh hmm I wasn't aware that the redline was so cheap. I figured it would've been a lot more expensive . I'll probably just go with the redline then since its not much more expensive! Where can I get it? Orielly's and autozone don't carry it but I can have it special ordered to the store in 24hrs. Probably just gonna do that.

i ordered my MT90 from extreme psi but it was like 14 and some change per bottle. sheptrans.com has MT90 for 12 and some change. ill be buying from them next time i change my trans fluids... redline is NOT expensive man.. well a little more then regular oil, but you dont have to change it nearly as often. 100% worth it... MT90 in the trans, heavy weight shockproof in the T-case and rear diff.

I bought mine from extreme psi. they ship fast and they have really good customers service but there are other good sellers too.
