Problem after problem.

I got off work today at 4 and I hoped in the car. It was cold and rainy so I sat in the car
and let it warm up to full operating temp before I drove through a parking lot to get to the drive thru McDonalds. :barf:

Anyways, I noticed, excessive amounts of exhuast as I putted around the parking lot and to McDonalds. I must have driven maybe 50 meters total?

The car was stumbling and smoking from the exhuast like crazy. I got my food and left.
The car was fully warmed up and when I got out onto the street it stumbled all the way from 1.5k to 4krpm. Even when I wasn't in boost. Even when I was.

I limped it home, turned it off, and checked the oil. The oil looked fairly normal.
I then noticed that the inline filter I had coming off the side of my valve cover was almost milky, but definitely loaded with oil and sludge.
This filter had been on the car for months and remained clean and clear up until today. Even 3 days ago it was clean and clear.

I removed the filter and hooked up the line without it.
Should I continue to drive the car? I have class tomorrow morning at 6AM and it's 30 miles away. It's also pouring rain outside.

that milky stuff is oil residue and condensation that was heat cycled, so i heard. that is why people usually use catch cans because the atmospheric temp changes can increase the ammount of that sluge. try hooking the line up from the valve cover to the intake snorkel with out the filter, take it for a test drive and see what ya get. hope that works man.

Thanks for the advice, I did reconnect the line without the filter. I'm on my way back to work here in 10min so I'll test her out. May also throw in some seafoam into my gas tank.
For all I know this filter isn't related to my problem and it just got his way cause it's been freezing outside.

False alarm.

I must have had some bad gas. I put in some seafoam, filled up the tank and now she runs just like before.
After thinking about it I , too, agree that the messy filter is due to the freezing temps we've been getting around here.
Thanks for reading.
