smoking burning oil

i got a new eclipse a while ago, fixed a few little problems and everything was fine. Just today out of no where on my way to work being very gentle on the car it started smoking really bad and burning oil out of no where, i have taken it just last week over 2 hour drive steady and back with no problems didn't use any oil at all even on that trip. what i am wondering is what could all the sudden just go bad?
i had a gsx before with a bad turbo and it smoked heavily under boost and when the turbo would begin to spool, but this just smoke more when i start out after sitting at a light rather then getting on it. i will be doing a compression test asap but i never have heard of piston rings just instantly going except for on subarus when a ringland cracks.

What color was the smoke? Also take the inlet off your turbo and look for oil and check how much play your turbo has. If it's a lot your turbo could be burning the oil.
Check for leaks, my oil return leaks on to the down pipe and burns.

I'm sure mines oil I will be removing the turbo after inspection of It tomorrow to check exhaust outlets into The manifold if I dont find another reason like play in
The turbo. I'm just curious could it just instantly go bad or what could, because last turbo that went bad on me only Really ate oil when it started to spool up.

If you say it smokes more after parked, then I will be more towards valve seals, oil will drain in by a bad valve seal wile is parked and/or idling, after it takes off, it will barn the oil that got in, once the car is running, then it will not smoke as much as it first start.

Also, check your pcv, it might be bad and will help to smoke more.

Pulled the turbo today and it was accusing the problem luckily thanks eveyone.
