Ok, we bought a 1996 eagle talon tsi awd thinking it either needed a head gasket or had a cracked piston. It was only 900$ so we really didnt care. It runs and moves but burns tons of oil. We fpound out the engine still has good compression (160 in all cylinders) so its not either of those problems. I am new to turbos, but not mitsubiti 2.0s. I think the seal in the turbo is bad and it is dumping oil right into the exhaust? Does this sound right? Can i get away with just rebuilding the turbo if so or do I need a new one? And what turbo would you recommend buying if i need one (cheap as possible I'm only 15).

thanks, josh

i would try to sell him on a small 16g. same turbine as the evo 16g, but spoils a bit faster than the evo, especially for a stock set up. just replaced a ebay big 16g for a real mhi small 16g and loving it so far. look for mhi, just tell your pops its a factory upgrade madeby Mitsubishi. plus small 16g is really reliable. whatever u do make sure to prime turbo before install..i used lucas assembly oil. good luck

what is the LEAST I can do to get a 16g installed.(I'm not lazy just limited)
And there is no way I can get a 16g cheaper, I would also would need all of this (according to an article I read)

SS -4AN Oil Feed Line
SMIC J-pipe w/ gasket
SMIC L-pipe
3/8 Heater Hose with clamps
New o2 Housing Gasket
New Exhaust Manifold Gasket
Oil Drain Gaskets (Oil Pan/Turbo)
1g Oil Drain Pipe (I modified the 2g but buying the 1g will be a lot easier for you)
3" long, 2.25" diameter Coupler
4" long, 2.25" diameter Coupler
4 T-bolt Clamps

we desided we'll get a t-28.
