I just recently purchased a 95 gst from a private owner . Seller said he had done an engine rebuild 200 miles before I bought it. I Have encountered a few problems in the first week of owning it.

1. There is tons of blue smoke out my exhaust. Now I have checked my turbo and there is no shaft play and no oil in my turbo or intake. I replaced the pcv valve but that didnt do anything. I am going to do a pressure check so I will make sure to update you guys with the readings from that. I know blue smoke means im burning oil. I quit driving my car so I wouldnt make any problems worse and when I checked my car today there was absolutely no oil .

2.When driving hard in about 2nd gear at 5-6k rpms the car will just completely shut off. I have no idea why.

Please get back to if you have any advice or tips. Just know that im new to the whole tuning scene so I wont exactly know how to do everything. let me know if anybody wants pics of anything so my situation will be more clear.

So what is tons of blue smoke? Like it constantly coming out of the pipe or no one can see your car when they are behind you? Also if you could post up a pic of the valve cover set up...I have reason to believe it could be the valve seals. Now, how many miles have you put on the engine. Cause if it was just rebuilt like you said then i dont see why you're taking it to 6k rpm before its broken in.:nono:

I have put around 1400 miles on it so far and I only took it that far once and that was the last day I drove it( I couldnt help myself it was the urge of having a new car). as for the smoke goes, if i turn the car on from a cold start and let it idle there is no smoke. when under boost and at a stop it keeps smoking. I will put a pic up of the valve cover shortly.

Yep its probably your valve stem seals. Did you get your head rebuilt too? I dont see what your valve cover has to do with your valve stem seals so we dont need a picture. Also what do you mean about dies? Does the car stall and you have to crank it back up? Does it studder like it doesnt want to rev anymore? Or does it seem like it doesnt make anymore power? Do you really have a t28 or is it the stock t25?

Yes Ireally do had a t28. I dont know exactly what was rebuilt on the engine I didnt get the rebuuild done the previous owner did. The car stalls and I have to crank it again. so no pic of the valve cover? anything you would likie a pic of?

Wow. Im at a loss. Do a boost leak test and let us know what you get. Do you get any cel's? I dont think a boost leak will cause the engine to just die on you. Maybe unless a coupler totally blew off. I dont know. Hey one of you more experienced guys chine in. Oh and welcome to the DSM community. Get yourself a logger. You will need it. Have you checked your spark plugs and wires?

Yes I have checked my spark plugs and there practically brand new. No I havent checked my wires. I will do a boost test and let you no what happens. I wouldnt be suprisd if i do have a boost leak cause when driving on the highway and slowly excelarating I hear something that sounds like a leak, and no its not the sound of my turbo spooling. This might be a stupid question but keep in mind I'm new to tuning and working on cars in general. When doing a compression test do I take out all 4 spark plugs or just the one I am testing on?
