I bought a small bottle of the Lucas Oil Injector Cleaner (tune up in a bottle) and put it in my car then filled it up. That was 3 days ago. And yesterday i noticed this strange kind of screeching sound when the turbo was building boost but i noticed no loss in power. Btw i have a stock 90 gs turbo. So today i leave for work and i notice the turbo was not building any boost, then about 5 minutes later smoke starts pouring out the exhaust. So i shut the car off and pulled over. The thermostat was normal and i checked to see if there was foam on the oil stick and it was also normal. It was only smoking when i had my foot in the gas. I started in about 30 minutes ago and the car is idling fine but i didnt press on the gas to see if it was still smoking. Any ideas on what it could be and would i should do next?

Do you think the injector cleaner could have caused it? I was thinking maybe a seal in the turbo. If so would it be easier to fix that or buy a used stock turbo.

depends how much shaft play there is if you couldve messed everything up internally if it just started doing it and you shut off the car you can save it and we have turbo rebuilders on here that can either repair your turbo if its repairable or sell you a turbo that is compatible talk to jusmx141 he'll help you out

Ok sounds good, i will do that. Thank you for the advice =]

stay away from ebay turbos theyre junk many forums on them on here and i know from exsperience i bought 1 for 750 off ebay tried to pay more than most listed hoping i would get a decent turbo it lasted me 2 weeks

only problem i have about the classifieds is you never know what your getting and they usually wont refund you the money but if you can find one on there for a decent price and local is even better than id say go for it and even go up to the small 16g if you wanted itll bolt right up only thing i think that needs to be altered is the oil feed im not sure about 1gs though so i may be wrong

this is a good deal IMO SMal 16G, Rebuilt - DSM Classifieds ported and 7cm hotside has less of a chance of boost creap than the 8mm

Can anyone send me to a site, i only got about 250 to drop on a turbo. I dont know a whole lot about cars, im learning though LOL.

try jusmx141 he might buy that 14b off you for parts and sell you a small 16g for a good price or another 14b best bet for a small limit like that youd want to stick with the 14b so you wont have to do any modifications just bolt it on and done

Im kinda scared to buy a used one, who knows how many miles are on it and if there is shaft play =/

I looked at the one for 180 and the guy selling it has really good rep so im gonna purchase that one. But the only thing is the housing is bad but my housing is good on my car. Is it a lot more complicated now that i have to use my housing. Its not just the 3 bolts and oil line that i have to worry about now correct?

I bought the 16g that was on the classifieds. Hopefully its in the condition he says its in. I will have it in by the end of the week and ill make a post letting you all know how it went. Thanks again for the help and support. This truly is the best forum on the internet =]
