So awhile back I bought a Magnus from a friend for pretty cheap. Then I realized it had no spot to bolt the throttle cable to. I just fabbed something up, but its bothering me now. So I was figuring I would buy a new one from Magnus with the 75 mm TB. From what i could see, this was very simple with slightly different wiring.

My next question is, by going with this new throttle body, do I no longer use the DSM ISC, FIAV, and all that other crap that causes idle surge? Im not sure what all the 75 mm Mustange TB entails. Please let me know

You will have to wire in the mustang tps sensor. You will no longer need the isc or fiav but you will need to baby sit your car as it heats up because there will no longer be the high idle when its cold.

So no dsm link? , You just need to the TPS .. Alough I am not sure how much it will effect your idle . My 90mm does not like anything below 1100 or it will jump up and down.

Make sure you also get a 75mm throttle body you know will fit the magnus intake , alot of people have had problems with the linkage etc because of not purchasing the right one .

green is for the green and white

Some people get them to idle fine others need a ecu adjustment / stand alone .

I know this doesn't help you but most think these larger TB's such as the mustang, etc aren't worth the hassle as they tend to be a pain to get to run properly. It would be much easier to just port your 1g TB & be done with it. Unless your running some huge setup (which it doesn't look like you are or are planning to) it probably isn't worth the hassle.

I am planning on going DSM link very soon.

All i know is if im going to get a new manifold, this might be a good adjustment to make. I have pretty bad idle surge and I have not been able to figure out why. I dont want to just block off the FIAV because I go from warm to cold weather all the time..

What do you mean Ill have to baby sit my car? Why would I need to sit around and watch it? Couldn't I just adjust the idle through other methods? I just seems to me like the FIAV is used to warm the car up, but the only thing it does is raise the idle in the cold right? Why do i have to watch it as it warms up? Whats it going to do?...

If I get one, im just going to buy it all straight from Magnus so i can guarantee it works..

Basically, if you remove your FIAV and upon a cold start-up, you'll need to sit there for a minute and possibly feather the throttle to keep it from stalling. That's what he meant by "babysitting".

ehh, There's never a guarantee with "race parts". Every car reacts differently to modifications.

Well I decided im most likely not going to pay $240 and go thru the hassle of the 75mm TB setup as my car is a daily driver.

The biggest issue is that i can not solve this idle issue...could I make a block off plate for the FIAV, and then just remove it when im in cold weather and deal with the idle surge issue?

I just dont understand how this could have just stopped working properly all the sudden..especially since the car was not running..

A band-aid is not the best solution. Have you tried testing your TPS? And you IAC sensor/motor? And did you already re-set your SAS and BISS screws?

So far, what have you tested and/or fixed to try to correct your idle problem?

Paul is right. But with that said I have mine blocked off. I just blocked the fiav and isc off all togehter. For a few second I have to pulse the idle when its cold but after that it is fine.

I have gone through everything on the Idle Surge FAQ..Im just getting sick of it. Honestly though, I need to do a pressure test of my system, I just do not have the means to right now. I think I could have some intake leakage..
