SMIC record? Max boost out of a 16g

Whats the record horsepower on the smic? I am currently doing a build and would like to stay away from a fmic and meth. Just curious if anyone has a record or im going to set one =X

Question 2:

How much boost can a 16g produce?
I plan on running 14 daily driving,
and around 22+ at the track or a nice weekend =D

and 22 psi on the 16g is good but 14 you'll find it anoying not enought boost for that turbo but its depend on your other mods, do you have fuel upgrade to run 22 psi?

If you have the supporting mods then once you experience what 22psi feels like you'll think that 14psi is sluggish and 9psi is slow.

+1 to 14 is slow. It's hardly enough, I don't have fuel mods yet but 14 to me just isn't enough and your barely breaking into that turbos sweet spot. 20 psi for that turbo is nothin!

thats fine if 14 is "sluggish" Well what do i need on my race tune to get 400hp? Its its around 26-30 then ill raise that 14 to 17-20

Stock side mount intercooler can reach the 400hp gate but will not pass that level. The thing that suck too with those stock units is the size of the inlet and outlet port, wich is not really big enough. Intake piping should not be smaller than the TB bore size if you want to have a good flowing air system.

And for the 16g turbo, it depend if its a small or a big evoIII. I've done some reaserch about that in the past and the small one can reach 22 psi but will not be at is max performance. The more you should boost with this turbo is 19 psi and it would flow 525 cfm. past that way you will get not noticable more cfm and it will have the result of warming the air, wich is not desirable.

you will experience alot of heat soak without meth and/or race gas. you will see alot of detination at thoes boost levels on a stock sidemount...

Get a supra sidemount. It's almost 3 times bigger than a stock sidemount. I have one on my 16g and love it. I just did a 12.2 @112 the other day.

The stock sidemount has way too much pressure drop without upgrading the in/outlets. With out meth on a sidemount your intake temps will be through the roof not to mention heat soak. My IATS are about 10* above ambient through the traps, as well as on the dyno. As soon as you are off throttle they are up in the 140's. With out meth they would be well into the 200's during the pull.

You're asking about installing a Supra SMIC. Let's think about that one for a second to try and figure out what to put into the "search string".

A basic idea search would be "Supra install" and that yielded 17 results, one being the process of installing the SMIC and what's required to do so.
