maxing out smic?

Coming next month car will be at 15 psi with the stock smic and intercooler piping. I'm guessing that'll be maxing it out without a fmic/supra/or meth. Anyone go over that? Or should I stay there until I get a fmic?

You should be fine. you can heat soak any intercooler but its a bit harder with a fmic.

I guess as long as your smart enough not to do long pulls back to back to back you will be fine.

I figured I should. Driving to work I usually don't get into boost anyways. Dsm's are more reliable than made out to be *knock on wood* worse problem mine had was the alt. belt breaking

Your sidemount should be fine for now. I'm getting a fmic however, can't argue with an affordable, super short route kit.

I was at the same cross roads as you, but i decided to go with a FMIC from punishment racing(when the time comes)

If you are referring about the stock srt4 front mount, it won't work. The end tanks face inwards and the outlets have a oval-like shape. It will not work with your 1g at all.
You're better off getting an ebay core and fabbing up some pipes or getting a kit made for your car.

They're highly recommended by dsmers but I see srt4 front mounts go all day on craigslist for 50 dollars, I was thinking about getting one. Has to be better than my smic

So, you think ebay will be good enough to run 18 psi? I heard the cores are bad for cooling sometimes

The ebay cores are usually good for up to 25-30 psi. As for cooling issues, it applies to all fmic kits, get yourself some slim fans and it will help with the temps.
