I just bought a used turbo that needs to be rebuilt. After inspecting in closer I see that there is a small crack next to the wastegate flapper that goes all the way through to the other side. Is this going to cause a problem? I plan on going to an external Wastegate down the road but for now id like to make this work. Is it ok?

A lot of housings will have cracks around the wastegate over time. As long as the flapper is making a good seal it will be fine. If multiple cracks happen to the point where too much exhaust is passing the flapper then it's time to get something fixed.
