I have a 97 eclipse with hahn stage 2 kit with stock internals i was wondering if i only got new rods and 8.5 compression pistons how much boost estimated would i be running with stock top end.

thanks :dsm:

To tell you the truth, you might as well just go for whole bottem end rebuild (ie howell's bottem end kit), that way you dont' have to worry about spinning bearings and the cost to do it all won't be that much more than ripping the block apart just to put the rods and pistions in. You'll probably pay around $800 for rods and pistions, when for $1100 you could just get the whole thing down. Labor and parts for that was running me about $1700, but then I opted to do some head work as well, so now I'm at the $2500 range.

Just do the whole bottem end, you wont' regret it.

Same amount that your running now, compression wont make the boost rise. Boost levels can be contorled by two things, a wastegate or a boost controler. Higher or lower compression determin how much boost the motor is capable of running. Personally i'd say go as low as you can go, actually I think 8:5:1 is the lowest compression that they make, b/c lower the compression the more boost the motor is able to run, fuel on the oter hand is much more difficult to deal with. Your Hahn setup is good up to 15psi after that you need to get some cool things to keep up.
