How much boost?

I subscribed to the thread, and wasn't getting them through my email on my phone like I had planned. Anyway, I've gotten the rods and pistons now and I've ordered the ARP Headstuds. Going with a .20 overbore so the MLS is probably what I'll order. Once I get the motor out and apart, off to the machine shop it goes! Going to polish the crank, and like I said above, have it overbored.

Thanks for the info guys, and sorry for the confusion. I was asking about the FPR for the FMU because of the fuel pressure being over what? a 100. I'm just going to get MS, and maybe use a safc for 8lbs until I buy MS. I know safc isn't recommended for the 420a bc of the one bar map sensor, but I think it's safer than an FMU.

GL! Any idea on what bearings you want to use? I suggesst Clevite HX for your use.. And id also suggest a Crank Scraper/Baffle/Windage tray setup.. It will be alot less headache to install and agp while the motor is out. As for the head, Search Oil restrictors. theres a few flaovors out there both OEM and Aftermarket.. Id also do what "while your in there"

say good buy to that motor if you try boosting with just a safc. Do it right or do it again, your choice.

yeah^^ running a safc on 8lbs is no worse than you running a FMU on 12lbs. Like a guy said above, FMU is just a bad band-aid. atleast with a safc, you have some control.

There have been plenty of people make 250whp STOCK I might add, with a safc. It's safer than an FMU, IMO.

Sure, but its not Safer.. the SAFC lies to the comp, and does funny things with timming. While both work, FMU deff is safer, just less tuned. its a hand off deal. oh well no need to worry bout that now, your goin MS! Woot for you!

OP, you should seriously sell the FMU and the SAFC and just buy MS.. Why chance all the money you put into a motor to potentially ruin it right away! Only thing that SAFC will give you is maybe a base idle.

email you a tune? no matter what your going to have to tune it. these arnt skittles .. You should be able to set it up and run it yourself.. The basics are all prettry well documented.. IMO you eithe have some one tune the whole thing, or learn..

Well from what i have rid is that you need to set the stuff pretty close or the car wont turn over, or autotune can do it.

Auto tune cant do idle (very well), nor tune Warm up, Accell enrichments, After start Enrichments, EGO etc. You need to set it up via your Req fuel and engine size, and start somewhere.. IE get a tune "close" to your setup via the tune repository, and work from there... Its standalone man.. autotune is nice, but only works once you get everything close.. other wise you will get in this loop.. i know, ive been there and spent months on it. not fun..

Go to the Symtech Tune repository and grab something close to your set up, Do all the sensor calibrations, and then try to start the car. Starting will Depend on your VE table, WUE and ASE. once WUE and ASE are off, you can tune the VE, then youll have to go back and retune WUE/ASE because you added or removed VE.. thats just to get idle..Now if your using a stepper motor, thats a whole nother adventure..

My Tune in the repository is with 450cc's. Name of the tune file is 'DonLee' if you go look at it. If you list all your mods and everything youll be using with MS I could get a base to together for you that will probably get it started but youll have to fine tune the WUE and ASE then dial in idle.
