I was shaving the bracket off the compressor housing that held the internal wastegate on my HY35 because I'm going to an external gate and ended up getting a few small shavings in the center section. I didn't block off the drain tube port on the bottom like a dumbass and didn't think about it till half way through. Like I said it is only a few small shavings and I was wondering what would be the best way to deal with this. I thought of maybe an inline filter but that might slow the draining down to slow. I know I'm a 100% Dumbass now but someone shed some light on this situation for me. Thanks

The only thing i can think of is to find a way to put oil or a solvent through it and let it dump into a cup or bucket till the oil or whatever you put through it comes out completely clean. And by no means should you put anything on the return that would slow down flow.

The only way to do this is to feed something into the "inlet" for the oil and let it get flushed out teh drain hole. If you try blowing it with compressed air you risk lodging the shavings in some where that can do more damage. You could possibly flood that hole with WD40 and use a small barrel brush ( like for cleaning guns) and scruba abit too. Then hold it with teh hole facing down and flood it with WD40 untill you're sure that it's clean.

Nothing i've suggeested is hard, just take a few minutes and clean her out good. You could even hook it to the oil feed on the motor, let the return go into a cup, then start the motor and let it use it's oil feed to flush it out. Just make sure teh motor doesn't get low on oil when doing this.

When buying a turbo from manufaturers like turbonetics, they recomend hooking up teh feed and letting the return dump into a cup for the first few minutes anyway, just to make sure nothing's blocked.

i agree, just flush the bad boy out.. possibly you can move the center shaft around just a little bit, rock it back and forth just slightly while you're cleaning it out... not hard enough to lodge anything, but enough to unstick something that might be caught....

i don't know of any better way to do it...
