This is going to sound like a weird/dumb question, but does everyone's center sections face straight up and down? Mine is tilted forward (looking from the top) at like a 20* angle, which kinked my old return line (it had to bend toward the block and then back out to the pan like an S) and now makes it impossible to fit on the new stainless one...

The only thing I could think of is that the center section is clocked forward for some unknown reason. And fixing that would involve taking off BOTH housings and turning it back. So because I'm too lazy and I don't like C-clips (and my blades are chipped anyway), I'm going to buy an Evo III this afternoon. But I want to make sure I won't have the same problem.

Also, a return line question. The bolts holding the flange to the oil pan leak buckets regardless of how much teflon tape I put on them. I was thinking of putting O-rings or some kind of rubber gasket between them and the pan... good idea or not? I'm sure copper crush washers would be a better idea but I can't keep buming rides off people to every store in the state.

Not sure about the centersection problem. But the bolts that hold the flange to the oil pan shouldnt use any teflon tape. A simple layer of RTV sealant should do the trick when mating the flange to the oil pan. I dont use teflon tape on any oil fittings, and i use rtv on most gasket surfaces, never leaks...good luck man
