I have just made a transmission oil change and put Amsoil! Now the car is a blast to drive even with auto! But forget that! As i cleaned my tranny fluid pan there were metal shavings in there most of which were caught by the magnets.
My question is: Is that bad? Is my transmission going to hell? Or is that somehow normal?

It's hard to say if they are good or bad with out seeing but I can tell you it's perfectly normal for the magnet to look like a hedgehog after 30k miles or so, so as long as it shifts okay it's probably fine.

Hahaha! Yes the magnets did look like hedgehogs! Couple of shavings even got into my skin and I am still trying to get them out and I cannot even see them cause they are like dust! But it has been a long time since the fluid was changed ( like 45K miles) and the pan was extremely filthy! The car shifts pretty different now, very lightly, so I am hoping I was not too late with the fluid change! I am hoping the Amsoil to improve my chances! I can probably drive 50K miles with it right?

Are there alot of shavings or just some here and there?

Yes, there were a lot, but mostly like dust size! I mean the pan was covered in black filth, so I was wiping and cleaning!
