Today i dropped my oil pan and there are little shavings of metal in it, the car had a terrible oil leak, could this be from the lack of oil and the pistons rubbing? I dont know what to do...bore with new pistons? compression test 1st? any help is much appreciated...Thanks

pop off your rod caps, clean out your oil pan and do a compression test.
If your rod bearings look scorched then its time to replace them, if your compresion is low then you rings might be bad( or possablily you pstons.
hope this helps

man this sucks...im kinda at a loss of what to do...i know if i put it all back together its gonna blow, LOL

Hey definitely do all the checks. compression check everything. I had the same problem on my Tsi and had to replace the whole motor.

sounds like i have a hell of a problem ay? maybe i should just buy pistons +rods, bearings and bore the motor?

I would do the checks before you throw parts at it. Do your compression check, pop your valve cover off and check your cams and bearongs, definitely pop off your rod caps and check those bearings.
