My oil pump is dead...these idiots that "rebuilt" the motor did a hack job on it. I ordered a Topline oil pump (I wasn't about to drop $300+ for OEM case and gears on this shit heap car) and the box was sealed....opened it up, the case is in a plastic bag.

Open up the bag and look at the back side (that sits against the block) and I see metal shavings all over the goddamn thing. Do they REALLY not clean all of these off before packaging the ####ing product???? The front side has a few shavings but I'm glad I checked this all out...I'm going to open up the back panel and check that the gear area isn't full of shavings and clean everything out good. This pisses me off.

I got myself an ebay pump...replaced the gears with OEM ones I had laying around. The gears didn't come burred or anything and besides having to cleanup the casting or machining in a few spots it wasn't to bad.

That is why you buy a quality part when it comes to something that important. I would just send it back for a refund and spend the money on an OEM unit. And if you are too cheap to do it right, sell the car to someone that will. There is a reason it is more expensive and last longer. I have seen COUNTLESS Topline one's that look fine but have horrible gear clearance and hardly pump at idle at all.

I completely agree with this. My friend completely rebuilt his engine, cheaped out on an aftermarket oil pump. 15 minutes after the cars first start up, he was pulling the engine right back out to start over.
