Sluggish Gst

Just redid the head gasket on my gst. now when you go to take off from a stop, the car is very sluggish and takes a while to get the rpms up. The car ran fine before i did the head gasket. If anybody could help it would be much appriciated! Thanks

Check the compression, boost leaks, loose hoses, plugs, wires, etc.

im not 100% sure on how everything is supposed to be on it, because the car was originally a gs and now has a gst swap

Who did the swap it seems like your going to have to check a lot of things out.

I bought the car with the swap already done. Would rebuilding the engine possibly remove the tune?

your best bet would pry be to take car to someone who knos ### to look for ### the previous owner may have done a half ass job puttin swap in and missin lots of things or not doin it right..

No dont rebuild the engine, it could be simple as check the wiring, and sensors and connectors it could be a simple fix.

Something similar happened to me when I did my first work on my 2g. I reinstalled the turbo and used an old gasket, the car did the exact same thing. Make sure all your turbo gaskets are new and properly torqued, and if you did this then look at this thread and make sure your connections are solid.

Could the tune be gone? Like after I rebuilt the engine, could it have erased the tune from the ecu?
