Well the seals on my 14b gave out and I got a really good deal on a turbonetics. t3/t4 hyrbird .63 So its all on and I used the stock turbo mani with a adapter plate a friends cnced for me. Well I had to use a turbonetics evolution wastegate because it was all I had so I had it mounted where the flaper wastegate would go on with a stock wastegate. Now my ? Is it seems way slower. I expected a little less spool time but damn I think I was making more power with the 14b. Granted I have not upgraded my fuel system. Although I do have some injectors and fuel pump. Just not installed. And im not boosting to over run the fuel system. Running around 10psi.

Ok here we go.

You can have a boost leak, bad turbo, and various other things.

Besides those two turbos have different compressor maps. The 10 lbs on a 14b is going to be better responding for the turbo than 10 psi on the t3/t4. You dont see teh benefits of running a better flowing turbo until you run more boost and enter the turbos efficiency range.

Id say put on another 14b until you can have all the right supporting mods for a bigger turbo.

I can buy dsmlink and and afpr and I should be good but would have to wait till the holidays are over. I didnt have the spare 14b to put on and this was good deal.

You may not be pushing enough psi to even feel anything. Upgrade your fuel system, then crank up the boost to 15-17 psi, then feel the difference.

Simple you can only achive so much power from the stock fuel system. You should beable to achieve the same power out of this new turbo as you would have from the stock turbo. However this power won't come on until later in the rpm range, which makes you slower.
Throw some more fuel at it and crank the boost.

IE:
300hp Turbo+300hp fuel system=300hp Full spool 3000RPM
500hp Turbo+300hp fuel system=300hp Full spool 4000RPM
500hp Turbo+500hp fuel system=I think you get the point, LOL: Full spool is offset by the added power.

i upgraded to an evo 3 with my stock fuel system(@12-13 psi) and my car feels alot slower...you probably aren't feeling ANY boost at all.

Thats because you are slower. Upgrade your fuel system, turn the boost up to 20psi and feel the difference. The efficiency range for that turbo isn't even close to that low.

Depending on the size of the turbo. Probably around a 50 trim, with a .63 A/R at 10psi you are making less power. Terribly unefficient and you won't feel much until you get to around 14-15psi.

Agreed. I dont start to feel my 50 trim kick in til it hits 16 psi. Then when it hits 20+ psiROFL its just a beautiful thing.
