Hey everyone. After owning my Laser just over a week and having no luck with my problem I figured it's time to ask the pros. When I accelerate from a stop quickly or from first gear in general my car seems slow. Sometimes it sounds like it is accelerating very fast but rpms and speed stay the same. My stock boost guage always goes up to 12 psi and never fluctuates. I know it's not exact and after I get payed I am getting a new one. Also when I do say a 2nd gear run than the car just takes off, sometimes. Sometimes it also is slow and I can fix it by going into neutral and back into gear. I have though about a booost leak or bad turbo. Any other suggestions? It's a 93 Laser RS AWD Turbo BTW. Thanks in advance.

unless your holding the break and the accelerator at the same time and take off you have no boost so yeah it will take off slow untill you actually build boost so that why when you go into second gear it takes off. it takes a little bit of time for the turbo to spool up or your car is lagging.

The in dash boost gauge is not very reliable. It may be showing full boost but may not be the case. I would recommend doing a boost leak test. There are plenty of how to guides on YouTube. Sounds like you may have a leak and your over revving the turbo witch will reduce it life.
