I have a 97 GSX that feels realy slow. I have a greddy type-s BOV, a cool air induction, ngk plugs and accell thundersport wires. I feel like my car just does not want to accelerate. It takes me around a mile and a half to two miles to get the thing up to 100 mph, and I've never had it above 120 mph with the boost gauge reading 15 psi. Is this typical, or is it something else. I do have an engine check light on with a p1400 code which I guess means the egr has low input or something like that. Is this my problem.
Please help!!!!

I knoticed today that if I do not depress the accelerator all the way I seem to accelerate better. It seems if I only depess it half way or less I seem to accelerate faster. It might be my imagination, but I have also heard that eclipse run rich. Could it be for some reason this is what is affecting my acceleration?

Is this happening @ 15psi? To be honest its happening to me right now and I dont get any answers either. I'd say its a fuel problem in probobloy both of our cases. What pump are you runnin? 190? 255? Stock w/o rewire? It shouldnt be rich @ 15psi in a 2g. Probobly dead lean and its out fueling the boost. I dont f'kn know

actualy I am runing the stock fuel pump w/o the rewire. After serching around I was begining to get the idea of rewireing the fuel pump. Also I thought about the upper intercooler pipe. There is an area where the stock air box used to be that gets realy thin. Perhaps that is why the car runns ro rich. It is expecting more air than it is getting. Just some ideas thought, I'll let you know if that makes any difforence. However if anyone eslse has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated.

Yea, a logger would help you guys out tons. I would assume you are leaning out when you go WOT and your timing is pulled. I have all stock fuel system, but I have the GM MAFT and a logger, and this problem only happens to me on the interstate in 5th gear. My timing gets pulled waaay back, and I find that I go faster at about 75% throttle than WOT. I'm getting upgraded fuel mods to handle this, but I would assume you guys are meeting the same problem.

Now, can you reprogram with a logger, or does it give you the info on your car? I thought the only way to realy redo your ecu was with a DSM link. Are there other things out there that can give the nessessary info and ability to fix the probem that is not teribly expencive?

You just view what your ECU sees with a logger. You need a piggyback like an AFC, MAFT, or all out DSMLink to actually tune. A logger will usually give you a hint as to whats wrong with your car if its not running right though. I don't think there is anything else worth buying that displays all the ECU data, $190 for the logger might seem a bit expensive, but I can't imagine driving without one now. You could also look on the web for just regular OBDII software, there's one I found that was like $80 that read the ECU, clears trouble lights, and logged, but it only logged at 3 samples a second. All you need is a palm and cradle with that setup and you are ready to go.
