I found this on a local board for a nice price - since it only has 2 wires and no other goodies, doesn anyone know how to hook this bad boy up?

push and pull.
1400cfm.
no thermostat or switch, its a straight two wire matches exactly up to honda wires.

:thumb: :dsm: hey i just hooked up my 16 in spal fan yesterday. i have a 95' so the wiring may be different but the principle of the hook up should still be the same. What i found teh best way to do it was
- cut the wires about halfway in between the motor off your original stock fan to the 1st wiring connector.
- so after you have done this you should have the connector with 4 wires from the car still connected to the connector that used to be attached to the stock fan but now is just the 4 wires dangling off.
- the colors of the 4 wires that used to connect to the motor of the fan were black yellow which were my negative-s and a green and blue which were my positives.
- hte reason for 4 wires is that the fan has 2 settings 1 high 1 low. so you have 1neg 1 pos. for high setting and the same for low.
- if you wanted to find out which wires are for which setting you can take 1 of the pos. and 1 of the neg. wires hanging off your old fan and splice them so wire is showing then have someone (be careful) hold the fan above the battery while you touch the 1 wiring to the pos terminal and 1 to negative. youll know you have it right when the fan spins. but make sure it is spinning clockwise if you want fan inside engine bay like stock and counterclockwise if you want it infront of radiator away from engine. you can do this just by switching the wires around and it will change direction of fan.
- now cut off the connecting harness on your new fan so you just have the 2 wires hanging out. my colors were black and white. but yours might be black and red, i dont know, but my black was neg. and white pos... easy enough
- now connect your negatives to your negatives and connect your positives to positives. that means if you had the same colors as mine - black yellow and black, green blue and white.
- now that you have all these hooked up so that are 2 seperate lines with 1 from your electric fan going into the 2 wires from your stock wiring connector for pos. and the same for neg.
- this is a good way to do it becuase you keep both original connectors together and it makes it easy to remove whenever you want to without having to cut any wiring.

hope this helps you out

sonds simple enough i'll give it a shot - do u think it would be good in front of the turbo mani? THis is plascis thought, it may be better ont eh other side of the radiator

yeah if you can "fit" yours in front of your radiator just make sure that the fan is spinning the right direction when you hook it up. i couldnt fit mine in front of my radiator so i jsut put it to the passenger side of the radiator. it is 16 inches so it was pretty big in taking up enough room. but yeah if you can't fit it in front of radiator then the engine bay side will be fine. If you can fit it infront of the radiator it will be a great space saver and open up your engine bay alot.

cool, let me make sure i have this right. THe fan in from of the transmission is just my collant fan and the fan in front of the turbo is my A/C fan right?

Because its gettign hot and ac would be my friend

correct a/c is drivers side fan and your important engine fan is passenger side. i eliminated my a/c so it eliminated that fan which allowed me to run a big engine fan.
i won't miss a/c cause it never worked right in the first place plus i have a sunroof. :thumb:  :dsm:

I want to keep my a/c so i hook this thing on the outsdie of my rad so it doesnt melt right?

or would it stand up to the heat being that its not that close to the mani?

yeah i have never heard of anybody's fan melting cause it was to close to manifold.
as long as it is not touching the manifold, you should be fine. if you could fit it in front of the radiator it would probably be better considering all the space you would saving, but for heat issues i dont think you should have a problem..
