E,
Hello,

I could not find information on this through searching so just wondering for those of you that have the slave clutch extender rod have you regretted it or found any problems with it. I am installing an ACT 2100 clutch with street disc and factory mitsu TOB, replacing fork and pivot ball as well as slave cylinder in my 99GST. Just wondering, those with similar setup have u experiences issues with or without the extender rod. Thanks.

I just installed my 2100, no extender rod, but it was a new slave cylinder, and I have no problems at all.

If you need to use the extender rod, you have a problem. Dont fix it with this rod. Find out where your problem is and fix it right. Uasually you need to shim your Clutch Fork out by putting washers behind the Pivot Ball. Check your Slave and Master Cylinders for leakages too.

I am not doing the install myself as I do not have the time, but am taking it to a reputable shop. The stock oem clutch has started to slip and am putting in all new components to prevent any future breakage. My main question is should I just be shimmying the pivot ball for install and keeping stock length rod or using the extender? I want to ensure full disengagemet of the clutch. I've heard mixed reviews on using the extender or not, so any information would help before install. Thanks!

I have the SBR 3500 in mine and had to use the slave cylinder rod. Even when everything was adjusted perferct. Once i installed this rod it took care of all my problems! i think the rod was like 20$.

I'm not sure about the whole shimming the fork thing. But my clutch went out (the guy I bought it from said it only had 5,000 miles on it. Riiiiiiight) and I decided to install an ACT2600 with an XACT Flywheel. I had already replaced the master cylinder and I decided to step up the slave cylinder a bit and went ahead and got a 3000GT VR4 Slave Cylinder and I picked up the Extended Push Rod off of eBay from this great place in Pennsylvania. It's about 1/4" longer than stock and my friend who has an ACT2600 said that it definately helps with the clutch disengagement.
