I'm sure it isn't all that great if I can push the rod in and out with my hand freely. Does this mean I have to bleed the system? It really sucks because I just installed my new transmission, act2600 6 puck clutch kit (with the revised pressure plate) and I can only get into gear when the car is in the OFF position and not when it's on......

OK, well after replacing the clutch and bleeding the system, I'm still short of full disengagement. I went ahead and ordered a slave cylinder extension rod (it seems that the rod just wasn't pusing far enough) and a SS clutch line.

Also, the clutch pedal isn't going all the way up after I push it in, no matter what. Lacking about 2 inches from the stopping point.

Ok, so I replaced the master cylinder and somehow sprung a leak on the slave cylinder where the crush washer holds on the clutch line. How badly could this affect my system? It is a somewhat decent leak too.

pretty bad!!! there should be no leak whatsoever. fix all the leaks, bleed the system, and everything should work fine. if it doesn't let us know and we will go from there.

Leaks before the slave cylinder can affect the engagement tremendosly. I had a pinhole leak in the hard line and it would give me almost no pedal engagement. Fix this and see what happens.

Don't use the extension rod. It's only use is to cover up problems in the system. If you fix the leak and you still don't have the correct engagement, take a look at the pedal assembly.

Beat me to it!

There's a fix to the play in the clutch *lifting up about 1-2 inches* in the guides.

There is no clutch pedal wear at all. If I wiggle the clutch pedal (which is maybe 1/10" if at all) I can see the master cylinder rod moving. I might be bleeding the clutch wrong. I've got the clear plastic tubing going into the jar half full of brake fluid, but the tube is going straight down after the bleeder valve. A local DSM shop said I should keep it vertical for about 3-4" before I route it into the jar. Is this what could be doing it? I also replaced the slave cylinder with a brand new one, no more leaks!
