Slave cylinder rod movement

I tried searching for this, but could not find it: How far does the rod travel out of the slave cylinder (and push the clutch fork) when pushing the clutch all the way to the floor if the slave is operating correctly? It is an OEM slave cylinder.

I am having the same problem a lot of people are in that the clutch petal drops almost all the way to the floor before it grabs. When it DOES grab, it only pushes the slave cylinder about 5/8-3/4 of an inch. Is this normal??? PLEASE help (I am losing daylight and don't have a shop).

For anyone searching like I tried, I found that the travel distance of a stock slave cylinder rod it is about 5/8 of an inch.
