So I am going to replace my slave cylinder today and, long story short, out of all the parts places I called/visited there was only one slave cylinder they carried and it was not the same style as mine. One of the employee's looked up the part numbers for different gen's and models and they all were sowing this part number. wtf?

To roughly explain how my slave cylinder sits... Looking from the front of the car, the bleeder valve is pointing slightly upward and to the left towards the header, and the feed/banjo bolt is facing directly forward towards the radiator support.

Is anyone else's like this or do I have some wierd frankenstein tranny from a chevy astro or something LOL. The "replacement" slave cylinder had the feed line hitting the crossmember and the bleed valve pointing at the radiotor support. I can get pics if needed tomorrow. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Did you tell the parts dept that your tranny is a Chrysler tranny and not a Mitsu tranny?

Did he go out to your car and see what you had, if you had it with you?

No I didn't specify between the two, and I brought the part in, didn't have the car with me.

So when getting the slave cylinder should I ask for a Laser slave cylinder or Talon or what?

..ask for a slave unit for a Chrysler tranny since you're an NT that has the Dodge 420A motor.

Interesting though that you took the slave in and they couldn't match up with it.

Tried Napa or Carquest, per chance (and stay away from Autozone..) with this...or even though of hitting the yards to find one (which I've done in the past with great success)?

Lasers and Talons were all Mitsu makes.

Good luck-DSM

I'll probably just get one from a JY. I don't feel like going through all the trial and error crap with ORiellys. If anyone, by any chance, is getting one soon for a 420a let me know the correct aprt number if you would please and thank you.

there are different slave cylinders listed for the different engines. sounds like you might have got one for the wrong engine. there is a website called rockauto.com that is great for checking parts online. they usually list several different part numbers

The guy checked slave cylinders for everything from a 1G to a 3G, turbo, NA, AWD, FWD......all coming up with the same slave cylinder. I will check out that site though.
