My slave cylinder started to leak last night, so i bought a new one that I have to go pick up today. My question is can I bleed the master and slave cylinder before I install the slave back onto the transmission with the 2 bolts?

A way to make bleeding a bit easier is to put one of those speed bleeders in the place of the bleeder screw on the slave and just use that as you would with bleeding your brakes. Cheap and effective.

I finished the car last night after trying for 2 days. The previous owner had the slave pretty rigged so i had to figure out the right length rod on there. The old rod was about and inch longer than the stock rod, but the longer one must have been too long, because he had 4 washers on each side between the trans and slave cylinder. After trying 3 different rods and different amounts of washers im back on the road again and seems like its shifting pretty smooth now.
