Skunk2 adj cam gears help!!

I just put Skunk2 cam gears on my 99 gsx. Now the idle suges and will calm to 1500 (seems kinda high to me). will retarding or advancing the intake/exhaust cam cure this? Do you sacrafice a smooth idle for more mid-high end power when you change cam gears?anyone got any ideas how to solve this?

May sound stupid, but did you install the adjustables at the same stock timing it was before?
That is why I am leary of adjustable cam sprockets... if you mis align them putting them in your all screwed. Have to start all over again tring to get them degreed propperly.

And surge is mostly caused by low vacuum. so either too much advanced on intake, or just too much over lap between the two.

yes the gears were aligned to TDC and everything looks great. the car runs ok when cold but the idle gets worse as it heats up. at WOT its OK just a high rev idle. so i could try retarding the intake and it might help?
