can any one explain to me what a shuterbox is i have heard about them. but don't know what they are. please help!! :laser:

a stutterbox comes on some computer management devices for your car, what it does is hold a consistant RPM level (say 4000K) So you can repeat a perfect launch everytime.

If I'm not mistaked it also allows you to build boost in neutral giving you more power when you launch your car. In order to build boost doesnt the stutter box make your RPMs flucuate up and down rapidly in order to put load on the engine? Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.

STING: you are wrong. :D

a stutterbox allows you to floor your gas pedal and have the rpm's stay at a constant (set) level ex. 4000 rpm is the max you will be able to rev your car while in first gear with the clutch disengaged.

Usually comes in the form of a modified chip in your ecu, or DSMLink.

Cool well that answers my question. thanks guys. do u know of any ecu upgrades for a 4g63 nt?

nope. I mean, you could put an EPROM'ed ecu in, but until you have done extensive modification there is really no need. I am going to use ECU+ tuning software from machv.com to tune my car... Other than that there really isnt much available. NO one makes chips for our cars.
