Leave it alone or go back to stock imo.

Injected said:The CF hood looks good, the headlights look ghetto IMO. The PS job confronts this problem. The "chrome" look on a red car with black/carbon accents doesn't flow. Save your money and get some less-cheap looking headlights. Oh... and drop your car.
At least one person agrees with me. Is it just me or is this thread getting a little off topic????? WTFGSTinCO said:Paint it. Like gst-spidey said get a candy paint so it colors but can still somewhat see the carbon fiber. Would look damn good.
CrazyUglyCoyote said:That was a horrible comparison! The whole reason for carbon fiber is weight reduction, and that all it should be for. If you want the look of carbon fiber just get some vinal cut and put it on your car. Its just as ricey. Why advertise to you local car theifs any ways?
Dude get real, do you actually believe that ANYBODY buy's a carbon fiber hood JUST for weight reduction???CrazyUglyCoyote said:That was a horrible comparison! . In a perfect f&f world yeah that would wash, but not in the real world my friend. Have you ever seen anybody run thier car in the quarter before with the stock hood and then switch to a cf hood and run again??? What do you really think the gain would be??? Honestly, i knew this arguement was gonna come up, i was JUST waiting for someone to chime in with the "weight savings only yo'". You know, it's funny the only people that want a carbon fiber hood painted is the people that cant afford one, or that have a cracked one and are jealous of the beauty of the good looking one's. If anybody's sole reason was to go with a carbon fiber hood was to run faster quarter times then that's a major waste of cabbage. For the money ($400-$700) i can think of much, much more that will actually give you a faster quarter time. Nitrous comes to mind, or how about a bigger turbo, some head work, etc. etc.

). The reason people consider bare CF hoods ricey is that ricers, who emulate fast cars, put CF hoods on slow/show cars. WHO CARES? I don't think HKS was too concerned about appearing ricey when they made a near full carbon bodies EVO.CrazyUglyCoyote said:If you want the look of carbon fiber just get some vinal cut and put it on your car. Adding paint isn't doint everything you can to reduce weightCrazyUglyCoyote said:Leaving it unpianted in my opinion is just ricey. Doing everything you can to reduce weight will help your 1/4 time.
They are showcasing their skills; we are talking about a street driven vehicle by a person who will rarely be able to show of his "skills" in a car that he just wants to know which in our opinion would be better, a painted or unpainted CF hood.CrazyUglyCoyote said:P.S. You dont see all the cars in F-1, Indy, Le mans, and what not showing off their bling bling. Their driving skills is enough.

CrazyUglyCoyote said:And I did give my opinion. And for you guys to flame me is wrong. And the weight of the paint is no more thatn the weight of a cup of soda in your cup holder. not really gonna make a diff. But when you compare a a difference of about 20 LBS it make a big deal, especially for us AWD guys who need to looses as much weight as possible!
