Should I jump on this?

Rare 60mm 8-blade compressor; basically a HX40 with older compressor tech. Depends on what the price is, what the condition is, and what turbine housing you're using....no way would you want to use that 22cm T4 housing on a DSM that isn't a race-only car.

i'm waiting on a response from him. If I can run the BEP housing on this then that would be what I want to do.

So if the price is right I should jump on it?

I wouldn't hesitate if the price is right and the turbo itself is in good shape.

Ok, assuming the turbo is in good shape what would be the average price that would be worth paying?

Also Thank you for your fast response. Im new to the Holset Turbos and there are so many its hard to tell whats what.

Ok he wants 400.
Few questions. Im going to guesstimate that i will need 850's at a minimum. 255, link, and maybe keep the boost around 15 psi on stock internals. I should expect full spool around 4500?

I recently bought one of those turbo's, 8 blade h1e. Fot mine for 200 with no shaft play, bought it because it seemed like a deal, even though I have no use for it.

Hmm. I doubt he will come down off 400. Wanna sell me yours? Lol

It never hurts to ask, and shoot my a pm about my turbo.

that turbo appears to have been media blasted while fully assembled.

Look at the oil inlet fitting. It is clean inside and out {like bead blasted clean}

the exhaust housing has been undoubtedly blasted as well. Yet the compressor wheel looks like it has about 5 million miles onit.

If you were planning to buy it sight unseen and not plan on rebuilding it. I would shy away.

It needs to be pulled apart to get all the glass bead or whatever out of the bearing area.

that and its an 8 blade, not the 6blade hx40 you are dreaming of.

if it helps while searching for turbos recently on searchtempest {craigshelper} i found this turbo, and eliminated it from contention for the above reasons.

Yea it looked like it had been painted or something. He wont back down off 400. I told him he will never get that for it. Hell there's an hx40 on cumminsforum for 500 that's brand new.
id rather pay 500 for the new one anyday.

Well i ended up getting the guy down to 300. Went and checked it out and its in good shape. It wasn't blasted someone painted it. There is no shaft play and the compressor wheel looks fine. Hopefully it will be what i need and want. Here are pics i just snapped of it.
