Should I consider this turbo trashed?

So, I bought this turbo used a couple years ago for this car before my engine failed. I am told its an h
HX35 but it's missing it's badge. I'm now getting everything put back together and buttoned up, and one of the last things I wanted to do was clean out all where the oil goes incase the pervious owner left some crumbs in there for me. (He said he took it off his still running volvo and that it worked well the whole time he had it.) Regardless I wanted to pump some clean oil through it while I spun the wheel with my fingers to flush it out.

Now I didn't clean this container out super well before I did this, but I can't imagine that there would already have been this sort of stuff in it for any reason.

The biggest peice of stuff there that looks golden is actually a peice of junk that was already in this container, but the 7 or so much smaller prieces to the right appear to be flakes of bearing.
That is pretty much all of the junk that washed out from 1 good flush, there are a few microscopic twinkles as well, but my question here is should I consider this turbo trashed? I'm on a bit of a time crunch to get this car finished and I hope I don't need to wait for a new cartridge or something.

Alternatively I'm thinking I can keep flushing this thing out until it runs totally clean, add an inline oil filter to my turbo drain and run it like that? After running oil through it the turbo has 0 shaft play and spins nice and smooth.

Probably pull it apart and inspect the shaft and bearings to make sure all is good. If shaft is good a rebuild kit just to refresh it and should be good to go

That could possibly be bearing material from HIS engine. Holsets have hjournal bearings but they don't typically flake as they are more like a bushing than a bearing.
Here, circled in GREEN, are what the "journal bearings" look like. They wear but I haven't seen flakes from any of mine (and I have toasted a couple).
@dustyboner is spot on, have our turbo man go thru it and you won't have to worry about it.
Also, run the turbo filter on the INLET side of the turbo oil feed, not on the drain.

Thanks for the input guys!

That's exactly what I was thinking. Those look suspiciously like main or rod bearing shavings. If that's possibly the case and the shaft play is literally not noticeable, I think I will run it with a filter for now, and order a rebuild kit. But I was thinking I should put the filter on the outlet of the turbo to prevent it sending any shrapnel I don't remove (or itself) into the pan and the rest of the engine. The oil coming from the engine has just been filtered by the oil filter. I guess that would help if you're worried about the oil picking something up inside the galleries, but I've just scrubbed and power washed every gallery in this motor so that's not my main concern right now.
