looking for advice if I should jump to a 20g ###

Ok so recently I came across the mhi20g on force performance for only $539 and I was wondering if it would be worth the time replacing my ebay16g with.Correct me if this wouldn't work please but I was hoping on just transferring the exhaust housing off my ebay16g to the 20g and bolting it on my car and connecting the intercooler piping, maybe try to run something around 18-20psi. I'm just not sure if I will gain any more power out of this with my current setup. I just feel like since I'm using the eBay turbo my cars not seeing its full potential...any input will be greatly appreciated thanks...PS I don't really have a goal I'm aiming for just looking for a bit more power then what I have now..

It says that a 14b/16g housing should work, I have used an ebay 16g turbine housing with a MHI Turbo and it worked fine. You may have to modify your intercooler pipes a little since the 20g is down firing and you wont use the j-pipe anymore. You might also need a different oil feed line, I have seen some ebay 16g that had a different size oil feed line than on an MHI.
 
You'll definitely pick up some power but 20g don't really wake up till 20psi

The turbine housing from the eBay junk will fit, but it's not going to be a direct swap because:

- The compressor outlet is in a different location, so whatever intercooler piping you're using now will need to be modified.

- The wastegate actuator from the 20G will not fit the eBay turbine housing and the eBay actuator will not fit the 20G compressor cover. You can modify either to work, but it does require a little mechanical engineering.
I'm just not sure if I will gain any more power out of this with my current setup. I just feel like since I'm using the eBay turbo my cars not seeing its full potential...
You won't. Doesn't matter where your turbo was made, if it has a 16G-spec compressor and it's not blown, it's moving "x" amount of airflow at "y" amount of boost. Sure the 20G will move more air at the same boost level, but if you're not set up to use this additional airflow you'll have to run less boost...then you're right back where you started from.

If your eBay turbo was blown and you're in the market for a replacement anyway, then you may want to consider upgrading to something more-reliable...but at this point spending $550 on a 20G upgrade isn't going to benefit you by adding a noticeable increase in horsepower.
 
Ok guys thanks for the input I guess I will just get dsmlink and better supporting mods before I jump to a bigger turbo, and unfortunately I live on an island with no dyno so I have no idea what HP my car is actually making....
 
But atleast with ecmlink you can get a good idea of your hp and torque. With my last setup I was flowing 37lb/min @ 19.5-20psi on my 16g and making est 360-380hp. And which island are you on because Oahu has a awd dyno, I believe at rev motorsports, or Ron's something like that. We have a 2 wheel dyno at the collage which is perfect for me and my talon tsi! :) let me know if you need any parts or advise or help, I'm on Kauai.
