Shortblock VERY Tough to crank over at TDC (no head on)

So i just built a brand new motor, and a valve dropped into #1 piston on startup.

So i put a new 2g piston in and went to put it back together.

Now, it is TERRIBLY difficult to turn the crank anywhere near TDC.

The head is off the car, and once i can budge it past that it rotates a little tough but not bad.

But whenever i near TDC on 1 &4, my torque wrench i am using on the crank nut is at 85ft lbs and its no where near enough to just turn the crank.

It turned fine before putting one brand new piston in along with the other 3 brand new pistons taht were already in it.

Any ideas?

Take it apart and make sure the rings and bearings are sitting in there correctly. Can easliy make it hard to spin.

i know the rings are correct.. but the only part im second guessing is maybe i put the bearing cap on flip flopped from how it was...

Would it do any harm if the bearing cap is flipped around from where it was? The motor only ran for 30 seconds before dropping a valve

The crank should turn. Pull the oil pan and see where the problem is.
