shifting problems, only drives in 3rd gear, help!

hey guys whats up... been outta the DSM scene for a while now and need some advice on a new purchase

im getting a 1990 GSX and the tranny is havein some problems... it only drives in 3rd gear while the car is running... turn it off, switch gears, and shes golden

any thoughts? i've thought throwout bearing, and a couple other things... but i've never had an AWD and was wondering if there could be other culprits

any info would be awsome cause i really need it up an runnin asap

i know its not a whole lot of info but i have yet to see the car in person to get first hand experience with it... let me know what you think

sounds like an internal trans problem if you give me some more information i may be able to help you out
