Hi Everybody

Replaced the clutch, master cyl, slave cyl, and clutch pedal assembly. Car will shift right after it starts up, but after warming it up for 1/2 hour or so it becomes almost impossible to shift---gears grinding----have bled the system many times----am at a total loss

Please help!

Regards

Shift cables adjusted properly? Does your car have 1990 shifter assembly and cables, and a 1990 trans? Flywheel step height correct? Clutch fork and pivot ball in good condition? Fluid level correct in the trans?

Shift cables: unbolted entire assembly during tranny removal and bolted back up again without re adjusting. Trans, cables, shifter etc all stock 1990. Did not inspect flywheel step but everything worked fine before disassembly. Ditto on clutch fork and ball. Fluid level good. Initially refilled fluid with 140 weight realized that was a mistake and refilled with 80 weight. Whatever is happening doesnt happen until the car gets nice and warm about 1/2 hour after starting up.

Thanks for responding

Have you considered the possibility its the transmission itself.

This was my problem, same symptoms almost exactly. After the center diff broke and destroyed the front drive, I pulled the trans and disassembled it, every synchro was toast.

Thicker fluid before it warms and drops the viscosity may be masking the worn synchros degraded state.

I dont think it is the tranny cause tranny was fine before I replaced the clutch. Its like the clutch is not disengaging when it is warm.

Thanks for the replies.
