Hello guys, This deals with my friends 99 GSX.
Basically, when the car is in neutral, the shifter is actually almost all the way to the left, (looks almost like its in first gear).

Shifting from 1-2 it GRINDS, but not the tranny the actual shifters bottem. It has grinded so much that it has put marks onto the fram where the shifter sits.

I thought putting a B&M Shifter would help, boy was i wrong.
You cant even get it into GEAR!!!!

So my question is, what the heck is going on? If pictures are needed i can get some.
Just curious if any ideas.

(the car shifts in and out of gear fine, doesnt even pop up BUT it is very weird!)

Thanks!:thumb:

hmmm, this is odd. Maybe shift cable bracket on tranny is bad/bent or something? Get us some pics of that area on the tranny and some of the shifter itself. I don't have much experience with issues like this, but pics should help. Unless somebody else has a better idea off the top of their head.

the only thing that I can think of, is that the shift cables are getting bound up on something.

See i dont know either, pics will be up soon! LOL

Initially, I believe it has something to do with the shifter cables. But it would help if we knew any past work history of the car. Did he ever work on or around the shifter cables? Was the trans ever rebuilt, replaced, or repaired?
