well it all started with 5th gear and it would pop out. (which i read the vfaq for, just havent had time to do it) until like 2 days ago. it got stuck in 5th gear and it acted like it was in nutral but it was in 5th.. i had to play with it for awhile and i got it out. thats when i started to ask some buddys and they said possible shift leankage. but i really dont know anything about them so ive been waiting for one of them to print off something off shopkey. but today when it was in nutral when i tried moving it side to side it kept gettin caught. like if i was in second gettin ready to shift to third i would be right in nutral gettin ready to push over and up and it was really hard to push over.

what should i look at to figure out this problem? ive searched a little on here and on vfaqs but i really dont know what to look for? any links or just about anything could help me.LOL i really dont know much about stick so bear with me please. thanks

I suggest you pull off your center console and examine the shifter assembly. This would be agood time to get rid of all the play in your shifter too:

You can replace your vibration dampeners (rubber discs) with some washers. This will take the slop out of your shifter.

to be more specific its on the passenger side. If you can have someone wiggle the shifter its easy to spot, just make sure its mounted on the block, they tend to loosen up, in my case the whole bracket popped off.
