Hello all, I am looking for some guidance. Here's my situation:
The rubber surround on one of my shift linkage cables (underhood) has worn away. Anytime I go to shift in any of the down gears (2,4,R), the cable pushes against the linkage, but because there is no rubber cylinder around it, the cable just moves out to the side rather than pushing the linkage actuator. It's tough to explain, but hopefully you guys know what I'm talking about.
Any thoughts on how to solve this problem? Is replacing the linkage as a whole the only solution? If you guys could point me to a tech article on replacing the linkage, that'd be awesome! Thanks!
